Where Does My Tithe Money Go? (Kelly takes a vacation)

When you give to a church it's usually understood that the money goes to support the church's finances and keep it running.  Being a...

Eric is Unshakable! Well not really....

The Crossing Church's latest sermon series "Unshakable" is out and {yawn} it's the same tired stuff we've heard for years and years.  Lets look at some highlights:

"I give even when I don't have any money!"   Really, Eric?  Tell us about the last time you didn't have money.  You are manipulating people at their lowest point, without money, to keep up your lifestyle.

"It seems like our culture is constantly telling women that beauty is found in the exterior....don't go out and be ugly...."  Is anyone else hearing Trump's voice?  (I digress.)  I don't see how you can dare preach on obsession with outward beauty when your wife uses half of her Instagram posts humble bragging for people to compliment her.  And "don't go out and be ugly"??  Fuck.

"they are going to lie about you, twist the truth..."   And there we go!  This is the one we've been waiting for.  How many sermons, how many times a year, does Eric have to say that someone has been wrongly slamming on him?  For the facts, not lies, as to why people have made critical comments about Eric Dykstra and the Crossing Church; this post details them well with many links to sources.

Eric, you were not "called out for your faith".  You were rightly talked about in negative terms because of your actions.  The audacity that instead of fully owning all the things you did as an abusive leader, but instead saying it's for God, is disgraceful and horrific.

"For all of you that never get attacked for your faith, maybe you don't actually have any."  You are such an arrogant asshole!  I know many people of faith, true to their core faith, that do not get attacked. They aren't getting attacked because they aren't power hungry, manipulative, devious pricks!

Same request, as always, please stop.

And remember Crossing minions; no commenting!  Eric's orders!

Whoa, what?! What is this "And remember Crossing minions; no commenting!" Does this mean that anyone who disagrees with you is automatically a "Crossing minion" because that's total BS and a great way for you to exploit any comment that disagrees with your post. I don't live anywhere near Elk River and I am calling you out on your bullsh*t.

I f*cking hate this blog with so much passion. Everything I read was negative and flaming angry.

This blog is written by a bitter, judgmental person that has nothing to do but go to The Crossing and listen to sermons just to find something to b*tch about on a blog, claiming to have better Faith than these and why? For money? Is that was this blog is about? Or is it jealousy? I don't understand what stick this writer has up his or a*s, but it definitely doesn't do anybody any good but perhaps makes the author feel a little bit better or more superior than anybody who has different beliefs. Doesn't the author of this blog even know basic BIBLE? I'm only asking because this author thinks he or she can pick and choose what verses to believe, while ignoring several of them including:

"Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers." Ephesians 4:29

"The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious; but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself." Ecclesiastes 10:12

"O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh." Matthew 12:34

"Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another." Romans 14:19

"Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks." Ephesians 5:4

"But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth." Colossians 3:8

I don't know a lot about the Pastor Eric, but I can bet he doesn't have a nasty blog wholly devoted to writing terrible things about YOU, unknown blog author. At least he is trying to bring believers up and talking about good things of GOD, instead of hiding behind a computer writing angry, one-sided, biased criticisms about some other Believer.

And I would suggest not deleting my comment. I took a screenshot of it just in case you think some one's opinion other than yours shouldn't be spoken.

I've never deleted any comments, asshole. (But you better keep that screen shot just in case.)

Let me answer some questions:
No, I don't do this for money. Look around the blog...see any ads? Nope. Don't make a dime...unlike The Crossing which is raking their people over the coals for cash.

I made the comment about "no commenting" because in the sermon he says not to comment. Try and keep up. I LOVE their comments! It's fun.

I've never claimed better faith. I don't claim any faith!

Do I know the bible? Yep. Believe it? Nope.

Not a believer. Eric knows exactly who I am.

Why don't you read my early posts and see my journey and then feel free to come back and flip out on me.

I was heavily involved in the crossing church for about a year and just recently stopped going. Upon doing some research in January this year, I discovered that you can find most of the sermons that "Eric works hard to prepare" can be found on sights like sermonideas.com and almost any other generic sermon site out there. They basically take the old sermon, edit the graphic so it makes it hard to find and out pops whatever series they are on. Most of the sermons from at least the past 3 years are like this, including the unshakable series. The series they are starting this weekend called "Juice" is an Ed Young sermon series they didn't even try to hide they ripped off (borrowed the graphic and all). This calls my attention to what pastor Eric actually does if he's simply copy and pasting all of these sermons.
